Full Job Description

If you have previous communications/writing experience combined with a passion for motoring in all its forms, this role as Motoring Communications Executive here at the Royal Automobile Club in Woodcote Park near Epsom could be the perfect career opportunity.

The Role:

Join us as Motoring Communications Executive and you’ll be working at the heart of the nation’s oldest and most prestigious motoring organisation. Based at our Woodcote Park clubhouse in Surrey but with frequent attendance at our Pall Mall clubhouse in London, your key responsibilities will include the development of internal communications to members and external communications to the motoring and motorsport industries and communities. You will also attend the Club’s motoring events and provide reports for use in member communications as well as creating and uploading content for the motoring section of the Club’s website and other member communications, such as the Motoring Bulletin and the Motoring features in the Club’s magazine. Your role will also include:

  • Ownership and strategic development of the Club’s Motoring social media sites and developing their reach.
  • Drafting content for materials such as event programmes, promotional literature, internal reports and annual publications.
  • Assisting external partners with digital or print content.
  • Working with our Heritage Manager to draft content to support the increased use of the Motor House at Woodcote Park.

The Person:
To succeed in this key role, you will need to demonstrate a passion for motoring and motorsport in all its forms, in addition to excellent writing, organisational and interpersonal skills. It is very likely that you will have worked for some years in a motoring journalism or PR role and it would be helpful if you have gained some experience of publishing to a website using a content management system. You must also have a keen eye for detail and the ability to work on your own initiative and as part of a team.

The Royal Automobile Club embodies both the rich history of British motoring and the best tradition of private members’ clubs - prestigious yet always welcoming, with many esteemed and recognisable members heralding from the automotive and motorsport worlds.

When you join the Club, we’ll provide you with fantastic benefits including; a free local shuttle bus service from Epsom station to Woodcote Park, Perkbox discount scheme, a very generous pension scheme, employer paid health cash plan, free meals on duty and a genuine investment in your personal development.

Most importantly, you’ll share our values. We combine a passion for our heritage with a desire to achieve new levels of excellence. We exceed expectations, treat each other with respect, and ensure mutual trust is at the core of everything we do. If you can live these values, you’ll see your efforts recognised and your potential nurtured in an organisation that’s full of individuals who have come up through the ranks, learned new skills or taken their careers in surprising new directions.
