Full Job Description

As Assistant Greenkeeper you’ll use your previous experience to enhance the work of a professional golf team that typifies what makes the Royal Automobile Club such a special place to work. Our multinational team maintains and develops two courses, within an inspired, environmentally sustainable plan that ranges from course architecture and woodland management to the reintroduction of our own beehives. If you’re up to par, it’s a great place to make your mark.

The Role:

The tree-lined grounds are home to two 18-hole golf courses – the historic Herbert Fowler Old Course and the Coronation Course – which have hosted events including the Bob Hope Classic and the Tesco Pro Am. As Assistant Greenkeeper you’ll be responsible for helping with turf maintenance, ensuring quality and consistency is achieved on both golf courses.

The Person:

It is essential that you have an Agronomic qualification – NVQ 2 or equivalent and are experienced and competent in the use of golf course equipment. We ideally seek candidates with a minimum of five years in a Greenkeeping role, who also possess clear and relevant understanding of Health & Safety requirements.

In return for your commitment we’ll provide you with fantastic flexible benefits including; a very generous pension scheme, an employer paid health cash plan, holiday exchange, free meals on duty and a genuine investment in your personal development. You will also receive a uniform and scope to develop your career within the Club.

The Royal Automobile Club embodies both the rich history of British motoring and the best tradition of private members’ clubs - prestigious yet always welcoming. Here at Woodcote Park, our clubhouse set in 350 acres of Surrey parkland near Epsom, we’re passionate about pioneering ever higher standards of dining, accommodation and sporting facilities.

When you join the Club, we’ll provide you with fantastic benefits including; a free local shuttle bus service from Epsom station to Woodcote Park, Perkbox discount scheme, a very generous pension scheme, employer paid health cash plan, free meals on duty and a genuine investment in your personal development.

Most importantly, you’ll share our values. We combine a passion for our heritage with a desire to achieve new levels of excellence. We exceed expectations, treat each other with respect, and ensure mutual trust is at the core of everything we do. If you can live these values, you’ll see your efforts recognised and your potential nurtured in an organisation that’s full of individuals who have come up through the ranks, learned new skills or taken their careers in surprising new directions.
